Information for Graduate Students

The Writing Center now serves Stanford graduate students.

How we can help
We can work with graduate students on:

  • seminar papers,
  • conference presentations,
  • theses, or
  • dissertations, especially during the proposal and planning stages, though we are glad to work with whole text drafts as well.

We are not able to offer line editing or proofreading, but can refer students to individuals who offer those services for a fee.

Appointments
Like undergraduates, graduate students should make appointments ahead of time. Appointments are available for 30 or 60 minute sessions. Because of the length and complexity of their texts, graduate students should consider making a series of appointments with the same tutor, possibly even set up a standing weekly appointment. Call (650) 723-0045 or talk to us when you come for your appointment to discuss these options.
